Taylor Springs Village Board Donates To Senior Citizens
At the Tuesday, Oct. 21, Taylor Springs Village Board meeting, Mayor Carl Hallers read a request from the Senior Citizens Center for help with the Christmas party. The board voted to donate $100 to the seniors.
Laura Moroney presented a report on the Taylor Springs Community Center. According to Moroney, the floors need stripping, cleaning and waxing and will need to be maintained on a regular basis. Per a written contract, bids will be accepted for this work.
Fire Chief Ron Gazda reported on funds raised at the annual dinner/dance. He also discussed putting the old brush truck up for sale per bids.
Mayor Hallers gave an update on the pipe project. He noted Illinois Municipal League dues need to be paid. He also informed the board how strict the auditor's requests have become concerning the village's bookkeeping.
Randy and Nancy Richardson of Nokomis were present to inquire about possible annexation of two and one-half lots in Summit Heights to the village. They questioned the possibility of road access, as well as water and sewer accessibility.
Mayor Hallers and Attorney Barb Adams will check on these items and Hallers will report his findings to the Richardsons.
Fire Chief Gazda requested the board retire into executive session at 8 p.m. Open meeting returned at 8:32 p.m. with no further business, and the meeting adjourned.
