Tuesday Boys High School Basketball
Litchfield 58, Hillsboro 55: After a back and forth game for much of regulation, Hillsboro's Nolan Rappe tied the game at 48 with 12 seconds left to send it to overtime. In the extra period, Mitch Wilkinson put the Panthers on top 56-55 with 11 seconds to go, giving Hillsboro another offensive opportunity. But the Toppers would turn the ball over and be forced to foul Litchfield's Dylan Treece. Treece made both of his free throw opportunities to give Litchfield the three point edge and the game as the Toppers weren't able to get a tying shot to fall. Treece would lead all scorers with 27 points while Zach Wilkinson also chipped in 11 for the Panthers despite suffering a dislocated shoulder during the game. Matt DeLuka and Rappe paced the Toppers, scoring 13 and 12 respectively. Litchfield is now 7-17 overall and 1-9 in the SCC while Hillsboro is 6-16 overall and 3-6 in conference.
Nokomis 70, Mount Olive 27: The Wildcats scored ten or fewer points in each of the four quarters as Nokomis gave Coach Steve Kimbro his 599th win of his career. The Skins led 17-10 after one quarter and 33-14 at the break before eventually cruising to the 43 point victory. Eleven different players scored for Nokomis, led by Derek Bourke's 17 points. Jordan Pesko also added nine for the Redskins. Dylan Martin was Mt. Olive's leading scorer with nine points. With the win, Nokomis moves to 17-6 on the season and 4-0 in the Prairie State.
Lincolnwood 57, Edinburg 45: A 9-0 run to end the third quarter and begin the fourth frame as they pulled away from Edinburg for their 13th win of the season. The Lancers had a 16-7 lead after one but the lead shrank to six by halftime and to two by the end of the third quarter. But Lincolnwood outscored the Wildcats 25-15 in the final eight minutes to knock off the MSM Conference foe. Landon Weitekamp led all scorers with 23 points while Brett Eddings chipped in ten, all coming from the free-throw line. Jake Thomas led the way for Edinburg with 17 points in the loss. Lincolnwood is now 13-9 on the season and 4-3 in the MSM.
Tuesday Girls High School Basketball
Williamsville 62, Nokomis 32: The Lady Bullets jumped out to a 16-8 first quarter lead and never looked back in their defeat of the Lady Redskins. Williamsville held the Skins to single digits in each of the four quarters. Ellie Riggs and Mandy Smith scored eight each to account for half of their team's points while Lauren Hollinshead of Williamsville led all scorers with 25. Nokomis is now 11-13 overall.

Monday Girls High School Basketball
Hillsboro 48, Pana 46: The Lady Hiltoppers staked their claim to the South Central East title with a win over the Panthers on Monday, improving their record to 10-2 in the SCC. Pana led by six at halftime but Hillsboro rallied in the third to outscore the Panthers 19-11. Both teams finished with eight points in the final quarter, giving Hillsboro the two point win. Paige Cullison led a balanced Hillsboro offense with 12 points while Kelby Young (11), Katie Thacker (10) and Megan Moore (10) also reached double figures. Katie Lees paced Pana with 12 points. The Toppers are now 21-7 overall.
Litchfield 59, Greenville 45: The Lady Panthers finished their regular season on a high note with a win over the number two seed at the Greenville Regional. Litchfield increased their lead after each quarter, holding a five point advantage after one, seven point advantage after two, and a ten point advantage after three. The Lady Panthers actually made fewer field goals than the Comets (18 to 14) but converted 27-of-41 from the charity stripe. Kelsey Going led all scorers with 16 points but got plenty of help from her LHS teammates as Morgan Painter, Shelby Smith, and Whitney Anglin all finished with 11. Monique Williams finished with 14 points to lead Greenville. Litchfield finishes the season with a record of 13-13 overall and 6-7 in the South Central Conference.
Riverton 72, Nokomis 66: It took two overtime period but the Lady Hawks knocked off the Lady Redskins on their home court. Nokomis led 18-15 after one and 37-26 at the break but Riverton chipped away at the lead in the third and fourth quarters. The Hawks cut the margin to five going into the final quarter and tied the game at 52 at the end of regulation. Both teams scored 11 in the first overtime period, most of which came off free throws as both teams had three players foul out during the game. In the final overtime, the Hawks held Nokomis to just three free-throws while they came away with the six point win. Playing in her final home game, Mandy Smith led the Redskins with 20 points, followed by Michelle Alexander with 17 and Ellie Riggs with 11. Riverton's Kate Blissett led all scorers with 28 points while Ashley Cantrall chipped in 17 for the Hawks. Nokomis is now 11-12 overall.
