Ailcy Josephine Schindler, 91, of Chesterfield, MO, died on Sunday, June 1, 2012.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, at Ascension Catholic Church in Chesterfield, MO, located at 230 Santa Maria Drive. Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery in Hillsboro. Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory in Ballwin, MO, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Schindler was born in Hillsboro on July 25, 1920, the daughter of the late Josiah T. and Mary Theresa Bullington. She married James S. Schindler, and he preceded her in death after 32 years of marriage.

A 1938 graduate of Hillsboro High School, she received her bachelor's degree in music in 1942 from DePauw University and a master's degree in music from Northwestern University in 1945.

Before her marriage, Mrs. Schindler worked for two years as a public school music teacher in Hillsboro. During her marriage, she and her husband enjoyed living in Ann Arbor, MI, Buffalo, NY, St. Louis and Seoul, Korea.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, loyal friend, world traveler and Cardinal fan. After her husband's death in 1977, she moved to Chesterfield, MO, to be near family.

Mrs. Schindler was involved  in church activities, travel and several hobbies, including raising African violets, water color painting, knitting, crocheting, quilting, listening to opera and playing Mexican train dominoes.

She is survived by three children, James A. (wife Glenna) Schindler of St. Louis, Mary Ann (husband James) Switzer of Chesterfield, MO, and Steven J. (wife Catherine) Schindler of Kent, OH; six grandchildren, Christopher (wife Wendy) Schindler, David Schindler, John (wife Anne) Switzer, Erin Switzer, Caroline Schindler and Elizabeth Schindler; three great-grandchildren, Mitchell Schindler, Ashleigh Behr and Rachel Behr; brother, John (wife Rose) Bullington of Hillsboro; sister, Mary Jane Beatty of Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Helen Ann Biebel of Carlisle, PA; and 15 nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rosina Ducrest.
