Amelia "Millie" (Szarzec) Sitko, 90, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at The Regency in Springfield.

Private family services will be held at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with the Rev. George Radosevich of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Staunton officiating.

Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.

Mrs. Sitko was born in Nokomis on April 4, 1923. She married Anton "Tony" Sitko in Chicago on July 20, 1946, when he returned from serving in the Army Air Corps. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 2006.

After her husband returned from military service, the couple returned to their hometown of Staunton where they raised their four sons. Mrs. Sitko spent her life as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother in Staunton.

She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Staunton and past member of the Altar Rosary Society.

Mrs. Sitko is survived by her four sons, David Sitko of Peoria, Steven (Susan) Sitko of Springfield, James Sitko and Mark (Cheryl) Sitko, both of Staunton; five grandchildren, Tyler (Brittany) Sitko and Kyle Sitko, both of Springfield, Casey (Tristen) Sitko of Chesterfield, MO, A.J. Sitko and Marcus Sitko, both of Staunton; two great-granddaughters, Payton Anne and Madelyn Amelia of Springfield; nephews, Bobby Sitko of Staunton and Joe and Jason Malek of Springfield; stepsister, MaryAnn Malek of Staunton; several great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Lesley Ozier and her family of Columbus, OH, and Nancy and Jim Collora of Fenton, MO.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Caroline and Walter Malek; and half brother, James Malek.
