Barbara A. Williams, 78, of Litchfield, formerly of Springfield, died on Friday, July 1, 2016, at Alhambra Care Center.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, at Bisch & Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, with a private family interment.

The family is being served by Williamson Funeral Homes, Ltd. in Staunton.

Mrs. Williams was born on Jan. 28, 1938, in Springfield, a daughter of the late John and Josephine (Winch) Forsyth. She was raised by her aunt, Barbara (Winch) Mendenhall.

She married Dean C. Williams on Dec. 9, 1955, and he survives. Primarily a homemaker, she worked at various businesses including Sandy's Restaurant, Kmart, S&H Trading Company and as a cake decorator at Baskin-Robbins.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Williams is survived by five children, Dean (Cindy) Williams of Delavan, WI, Josephine "Josie" (John) Negro of Springfield, Marian Williams of Montgomery, TX, Jerry (Jodi) Williams of Litchfield and Melinda (Ethan Bumas) of Jersey City, NJ; and nine grandchildren, Jamie, Maj-Britt, Keagan and Schuyler Williams, Jaclyn and Justin Negro, Madison and Meagan Williams and Greta Bumas.

Memorials may be given to the University of Illinois Scholarship Fund to assist students in purchasing textbooks.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Forsyth, and a sister, Mary Owens.
