Beverly Ann Claxon, 75, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at 9:30 p.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Funeral services for Mrs. Claxon will be held at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Hough & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Dr. Ronald Rhodus and Rev. James Hayes will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hough & Sons.

She was born on January 1, 1936, in Hillsboro to Dale and Sarah Helen (Savage) Hapner. The first baby of 1936, she also gave birth to the first baby of 1955.

She married Jimmy Claxon on March 26, 1953, in Hillsboro, and he survives. Also surviving are six daughters, Vickie (husband Kenny) Barlow, Jamia Claxon, Joan (husband Kevin) Landers, Julie (fiance Larry Eickhoff) Draper, Jan (husband Tom) Sherer, and Stephanie (husband Pat) Dettman; two sons, Jimmie Claxon and Steve Claxon; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Norma Govaia and Dorothy Southard.

Mrs. Claxon was preceded in death by her parents; two granddaughters, Sara Sherer and Leann Draper; three brothers, Dale Hapner, Jr., Kenneth Feraris, and Robert Dale Hapner; and two sisters, Shirley Murphy and Alta Faye Fletcher.

She was a homemaker, a care giver, and a worker for many years at Hillsboro Area Hospital. She was a member of the Calvery Baptist Church.
