Clyde E. Allen, 76, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at his residence.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Christine Erdmann officiating. Burial will be held in Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Mr. Allen was born May 23, 1942, in Carlinville, to Clifford and Grace (Hohimer) Allen. He married Alice (Odle) Allen, and she survives.

A retired ironworker and a veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Local 392 Ironworkers.

An avid Cubs fan and Jeopardy fan, he was also a gardener. He loved attending auctions, and he enjoyed his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sharon Allen (fiance Chris Agers) of Hillsboro; a grandchild, Taylor Bichelmeyer of Union City, NJ; a brother, Jack (Wanda) Allen of Warsaw, MO; and a sister, Kay Corbin of Bunker Hill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jim Allen, Ronnie Allen, Bud Allen, Wayne Allen, Jerry Allen, Bob Allen, Terry Allen and Don Allen; and a sister, Donna Jackson.
