David Henry Boas, 63, of Hillsboro died at 11:45 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015, at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Daniel Willenborg, pastor of St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, officiating.
Private family burial will be held in St. John's Cemetery in Coffeen.
Mr. Boas was born in Hillsboro on Sept. 18, 1951, the son of Henry M. and Joan Agnes (Sherer) Boas.
He lived in Hillsboro his entire life and was a 1969 graduate of Hillsboro High School. He worked at ASARCO Smelter in Taylor Springs until it closed and also helped his dad on the farm. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Coffeen.
Mr. Boas is survived by three sisters, Judy (husband Glen) Burleson of Litchfield, Jane (husband Randy) Schmidt of Pittsboro, IN, and Janet (husband Tim) Crowley of Sewell, NJ; and special friend, Teresa McHenry of Hillsboro.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
