Dennis G. "Denny" Daugherty, 63, of Morrisonville, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015 at his home.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Morrisonville High School gymnasium with Darrin Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Ridge Cemetery, Atwater. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at the gym on Saturday. Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Daugherty was born on April 2, 1951, in Litchfield, the son of Glenn L. and Mary E. (Easley) Daugherty.
He worked for Springfield Clinic and was in charge of the printing department. He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and was a member of the Alumni Association. He was also a member of Advent Christian Church in Palmer, Odd Fellows, Illinois Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and a longtime Morrisonville Village Board member. He loved high school sports and did statistics for many area schools.
He is survived by brothers Robert "Doc" (wife Barbara) Daugherty of Morgantown, KY, and James "Dot" (wife Sue) Daugherty of Danville; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
