Doris Leah Yates, 82, of Litchfield, died at 7:37 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, in Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Center, in Litchfield.

Graveside service will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 1:45 p.m. No visitation will be held.

Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Yates was born Sept. 24, 1933, in Overland, MO, a daughter of the late James and Cornelia P. (Kesselring) McMenamy. She married James D. Yates on May 10, 1952, in All Saints Catholic Church in University City, MO, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 2008.  

A self-employed antique dealer for Harris House Antiques in Webster Groves, MO, she enjoyed spending time with her dogs and grandchildren.

Mrs. Yates is survived by two daughters, Katherine A. Burch of St. Louis and Karen M. (Jacob A.) Yates-Karl of Litchfield; four grandchildren, Lauren (Vic) Soares, Emily (Kevin) Dilthey, Molly Stamper and Michael Stamper; three greatgrandchildren, Jacob Soares, Liam Dilthey and Cecelia Dilthey; and a sister, Charleen Sequin of Wisconsin.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers Jim McMenamy and Larry McMenamy, and three sisters, Katherine Tabaka, Ilene Cook and Cornelia "Sis" Smith.
