Dorothy I. Moreland, 87, of Argenta, died on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at 5:45 a.m. at Hickory Point Christian Village in Forsyth.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Argenta United Methodist Church in Argenta. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, beginning at noon at the church with Pastor Bob Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Creek Cemetery in Argenta.
Calvert Funeral Home in Argenta is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Moreland was born on March 18, 1929, in Pawnee, to the late Ivy and Opal (Adams) Sanders. She married James Donald Moreland on August 6, 1950, in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2013.
During her career, she served as a lifelong homemaker and beautician for many years.
She was a member of the Argenta United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Moreland is survived by her children, David (Mary) Moreland of Chatham, Karon Moreland (Neal Primm) of Colmesneil, TX, Sharon (Denny) Moore of Latham and Suzie (Mike) Bruels of Charleston; as well as five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one stepgrandson.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Sanders.
