Dorothy Ann (Sihler) Schmidt, 83, of Clearwater, FL, formerly of Litchfield, died on Dec. 26, 2016, in Clearwater, FL.
Funeral services were conducted at Bethel Lutheran Church in Clearwater, FL.
Mrs. Schmidt was born on Feb. 6, 1933, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of the late Dr. Harold and Mabel Sihler. She married Roy Lee Schmidt on Aug. 28, 1954, in Litchfield.
She grew up in Litchfield, attended Litchfield schools and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1950. She attended DePauw University in Greencastle, IN, and received a bachelor of arts degree.
Her husband retired from Schmidt Trucking in 1977 and the family moved to Florida. Mrs. Schmidt was a homemaker, active in her church, Bethel Lutheran, and a member of the choir there for many years. In the early 1990s she worked in the customer service department of a store which later became Dillards.
She is survived by four children, Charles, Laura, Deidra and Clarice; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Earl and Barbara Schmidt of Litchfield.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Schmidt was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Sihler.
