Dwayne Thomas, 50, of Carlinville, formerly of Litchfield, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at 11:31 p.m. at Carlinville Area Hospital.

Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jay Johnson, pastor of Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield, officiating.

Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be in St. Paul’s Churchyard in Affton, MO, at a later date.

Mr. Thomas was born on Dec. 5, 1963, in Blytheville, AR, the son of the late Milton Lee and Lola Mae (Washington) Thomas. He married Kathryn L. “Katie” Johnson on March 14, 1998, in Missouri, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 2009.

He graduated from Assumption High School and was a member of Raymond Baptist Church. He was a factory worker at Engineered Coil Company in High Ridge, MO.

In his leisure time, Mr. Thomas enjoyed fishing, camping, throwing darts and playing basketball.

He is survived by four brothers, Norval Washington, Pat (Jessica) Thomas, Milton (Patricia) Bell and LaMont Thomas; two sisters, Denise (Theophilus) Thomas and Vinessa (Donald) Macintosh; several nieces and nephews; and close friend, Ron Anglin of Litchfield.

Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by an infant son, Blake Thomas.
