Emil A. "Pa" Watts, 74, of Brighton, died at 5:54 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, in his home.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, in the Targhetta and Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, in St. John's United Church of Christ, Brighton. The Rev. Lori Schafer will officiate. Burial will be in the Brighton Cemetery.

Born in 1937 in Jersey County, he was a son of George Fabrian and Merle (Williams) Watts. He married Loretta A. Wooff on May 22, 1956, in Jerseyville, and she preceded him in death on May 2, 1997.

Mr. Watts was employed as a lithographer at Olin Corporation in Alton, and after retirement he worked for the Alton school district. He was a member of the Brighton Odd Fellows Number 366 and St. John's United Church of Christ.

He is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (husband Jeff) Vonnahmen of Brighton; two sons, Kent (wife Fleming) Watts of Spanish Fort, AL, and Kirk (wife Lori) Watts of Brighton; one sister, Shirley Taul of Jerseyville; seven brothers, Glen (wife Esther) Watts of Litchfield, Leon (wife Judi) Watts of Jerseyville, and Paul Watts, Delmar (wife LaVerna) Watts, Pete (wife Margie) Watts, Herschel (wife Dorothy) Watts, Roger (wife Sharon) Watts and Lew (wife Jackie) Watts, all of Brighton; and nine grandchildren, Danielle (husband Keith) Watts Canamore, Kyle (wife Brittney) Vonnahmen, Matthew Watts, Rheanna Vonnahmen, and Nicholas, Austin, Joseph, Parker and Joel Watts.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald Young; a stepson, Gerald Kelley; one stepdaughter, Tracy Adams; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial tributes be directed to his church.
