Frances Ruth Boehme, 97, of Litchfield died Sunday, April 12, 2015, at 3:14 a.m. at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Litchfield.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, April 17, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home with great-nephew, the Rev. Gary Schwab of Litchfield, officiating.

Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.

Mrs. Boehme was born on July 13, 1917, in Honey Point Township in Macoupin County, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Gretzer) Schwab. She married William Henry Boehme on Feb. 15, 1936, at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Litchfield, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1995.

She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was active in WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) and held various offices and taught Sunday school for several years.  

In her leisure time, Mrs. Boehme enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and playing cards.

She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Sue (William) Budd of Springfield and Donna (Tom) Ottersburg of Gillespie; three grandchildren,     Jennifer (Gary) Frank of Athens, Andrew (Francesca) Herkert of Aurora, CO, and Katie (John) Ronald of Gillespie; two stepgrandchildren,  Tim (Eri) Ottersburg and Tom (Anne) Ottersburg, both of Bothell, WA; six great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.  

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Boehme was preceded in death by six brothers, Joseph, Edward, Charles, Albert, Andrew and Lawrence Schwab; and three sisters, Clara Bishop, Elizabeth Wandling and Cecelia Gurick.

The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Litchfield.
