Frank Scroggins, 92, of Schram City died at 9:57 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab Center in Taylor Springs.
Private family services will be held and burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Scroggins was born in Harrisburg on Aug. 14, 1922, the son of the late Frank and Rachel (Jones) Scroggins. He married Vesta Ilene Newell in East Alton on May 28, 1946, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 17, 2000.
He lived in East Alton and moved to Hillsboro in 1973. He was a high school graduate and a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II.
Mr. Scroggins was a machinist at General Steel Industries and the coal mine.
He is survived by two sons, Frank Scroggins of Wood River and Mike (wife Marta) Scroggins of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Derek Scroggins, Heather Scroggins, Rachel Huber and Jessica Scroggins; ten great-grandchildren, Gage Odle, Reese Odle, Aurora Olson, Tanner Olson, Riley Callahan, Draic Huber, Chance Huber, Willow Huber, Tabitha Huber and Derek Scroggins, Jr.
Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Scroggins was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Scroggins.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
