Gary Dean Noyes, 75, of Hillsboro, died at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Randy Sands of Hillsboro Free Methodist Church, Mark Noyes and the Rev. Lillard Luttrell will officiate. Burial will be at Cress Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Military rites will be held graveside by V.F.W. Post #1306 and American Legion Post #425.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, May 15, at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 8 p.m.

Mr. Noyes was born on Feb. 25, 1940, in Hillsboro, a son of Warren F. and Edna E. (Casey) Noyes. He graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1958 and earned his associate's degree from Ranken Technical College in St. Louis.

He lived in Hillsboro and Joliet during his life.

Mr. Noyes was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War.

He married Sharon Mackey on April 11, 1964, in the First Christian Church Parsonage in Hillsboro, and she survives.

Mr. Noyes worked as a sheet metal worker who received his journeyman card in 1968 from the Sheet Metal Workers Local #268 in Caseyville.

He was a member Class of 1958 Monthly Lunch Group; Sheet Metal Workers Local #268, Caseyville; Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #51 AF & AM, Hillsboro; Scottish Rite 32nd Consistory, Springfield; Move Program for Veterans at Fusion Fitness; Prime Timers at the Free Methodist Church, Hillsboro; Meals on Wheels; and the McDonald’s Coffee Group.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids, and was proud to be an eastside kid. He spent 50 years camping everywhere, was a campground attendant at Carlyle Lake, a 100 percent handyman nicknamed "Tin Snip" and enjoyed riding his scooter.

Along with his wife, Mr. Noyes is survived by two daughters, Christine Marie Noyes (husband Mike) Walters of Schram City and Connie Sue Noyes Emerick of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Amber Walters and Noah Dean Emerick; and two great-grandchildren, Addyson and Zebadiah Walters.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Terry Emerick; two sisters, Earlene Waymon and Marilyn Jones; and a brother, Robert Eugene Noyes.

Memorials may be given to St. Louis Shriner's Hospital; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; Free Methodist Church, Hillsboro; or Hospice Care of Sangamon County.
