Gary Lee Calcari, 67, of Gillespie died in Gillespie on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at 1:09 p.m.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 9, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services are Friday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
Mr. Calcari was born on June 1, 1949, in Litchfield, the son of the late William J. Calcari, Sr. and Garnet (Yemm) Calcari.
He was a retired staff sergeant for the U.S. Army and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Gillespie and NRA.
Mr. Calcari is survived by his children, Aleshia Calcari and Cassie Calcari, both of Litchfield, and Thomas Ward of Bonne Terre, MO; stepdaughters, Mimi Sandlin of Seymour, IN, and JorGina Rodriguez of Litchfield; grandchildren, Keighlee, Ava, Keaton, Koehn, Gabriel, Kelsey, Deondre, Auryanna, Sophie, Kenton, Josie, Lainey and Jagger; siblings, William J. Calcari, Jr., John A. Calcari, Gina Mendenhall, Teresa Sample, Christopher L. Calcari; and former spouse, Carol Jarden.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister in infancy, Eva Mae Calcari; brother in infancy, Bruce W. Calcari; and former spouse, Audrey Carter.
