Harold Stanley Loyd, Sr. , 89, of Ocala, FL, died at home on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Dec. 8, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, at 1 p.m. Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony, FL, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Loyd was born in Talkington, the son of Harrison A. and Ollie (Pierson) Loyd. He married Mildred Marie Beane, and she preceded him in death.
A WWII veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he moved to Ocala, FL, in 1999. He worked as a welder and was a loving father and an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan.
Mr. Loyd is survived by Evelyn Odel of Centralia, Nancy (Jim) Lang of Hillsboro, Judy (Ralph) Hodges of Taylorville, Jeannie (George) Knuth of Litchfield, Robert (Vicki) Tipsword, Ocala, FL, Harold S. Loyd, Jr. of Tampa, FL, Randy (Peggy) Loyd of Chester and Hal Loyd and Cathy Loyd of Sanderson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, May Lou Hollis; Bill Estell, Rocky Estell, Donald Estell and Mike Loyd; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Marion County.
