Isabelle Louise Vail, 57, of Sawyerville died at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Vail was born in Litchfield on April 13, 1957, the daughter of Herbert F. Giller and Lila L. Boothe. She married Richard Lee Ellington, Sr. on Feb. 17, 1976, in Donnellson, and they later divorced. She then married Jeffery Vail on Aug. 8, 1995, in Carlinville, and they also divorced. Both survive.
She attended Benld Elementary School and Hillsboro High School. She had a CNA food service certificate and worked as a cook and certified nurse assistant for 20 years. She loved cooking, gardening, home improvement and spending time with her family.
Ms. Vail is survived by her daughters, Mildred L. Conlee and Katherine J. Roberts, both of Mt. Olive; son, Herbert S. (wife Geneva R.) Ellington of Fillmore; mother, Lila L. Boothe; brother, John S. Giller, Sr. of Staunton; sisters, Joan S. Giller of Shobonier and Lorraine D. Giller of Benld; stepdaughters, Linda Jett of Vermont, IL, and Sandra Gorman of Butler; stepson, Richard Ellington, Jr. of Mt. Olive; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert F. Giller; and brother, Herbert S. Giller.
