Janet Viola Leek, 78, of McLeansboro died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at St. Louis University Hospital.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Ten Mile Baptist Church in McLeansboro. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Brother Jacob Gray officiating.
Mrs. Leek was born on Sept. 18, 1936, in Christopher, the daughter of the late Noble L. and Pearle (Lohmann) Williams. She married Carl Leek, and he survives.
She worked for Peoples National Bank in McLeansboro and was the secretary for the Ten Mile Baptist Church in McLeansboro, where she was a member. She was also a member of the Christopher Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Leek is survived by her children, Sherylin Bundy of West Frankfort, Geri Rene’ Owen of McLeansboro and Jeffrey (Robin) Leek of Harvel; grandchildren, Rhonda (Chris) Gore, Stacey Young, Robbie Edwards, Lauren Edwards, Jordan Leek, Austin Leek and Madison Leek; great-grandchildren, Allison and Mark Jett, Aleah Gore, Vali Gore and Staley Alvis; sister-in-law, Betty Williams of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Oliver Williams.
