John E. Sabol, 77, of Nokomis, died on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, at 5 p.m. at his residence.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with pastor, Bert Eickhoff, officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis.
Mr. Sabol was born on June 21, 1940, in Nokomis, to John Joseph Sabol and Anne (Gozniker) Pechnik. He married Tincie Irene Moorey on March, 27, 1965, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, and she survives.
He graduated high school, later serving in the U.S. Army.
A member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, he worked as a machinist for Caterpillar.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Dawn Sabol, Nicole (Sabol) Wieland and John J. (Erin) Sabol, all of Nokomis; and his grandchildren, Zach, Brayden, Carter, Jacob, Audrey and Alivia.
Mr. Sabol was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Guido Pechnik; and a sister, Mary Ann Stokes.
