Juanita L. Dankoski, 91, of Schram City died at 1:21 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, at her residence.

Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harry Kirk, pastor of Liberty Church in Bingham, officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Mrs. Dankoski was born in Herrin on April 12, 1925, the daughter of Archibald and Cora (Smith) Miller. She married Eddie E. Dankoski in Hillsboro on July 1, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 1995.

During her lifetime she lived in El Paso, IL, Hillsboro and in many different places while her husband was in the military, including Japan, North Carolina and Florida. She has resided in Hillsboro since 1961.

Mrs. Dankoski graduated from El Paso High School in El Paso, IL, and was a housewife. She attended Christian Church in Hillsboro and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW.

In addition, she taught Sunday school, volunteered at Hillsboro Area Hospital and was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader. She loved to watch birds at her bird feeder, loved butterflies and Betty Boop.

Mrs. Dankoski is survived by her children, Edward Dan (wife Teresa) Dankoski of St. Charles, IL, Ricky Allen Dankoski of Schram City, John Benjamin (wife Diane) Dankoski of Donnellson and Linda Marcine (husband John) Weiss of Hillsboro; six grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Edmund Dankoski, one brother and three sisters.
