Justin K. Adams, 21

US Army Specialist Justin Kyle Adams, 21, of Largo, FL, formerly of Hillsboro, died Friday Nov. 22, 2013, when his Humvee crashed into a river during active duty in Seoul, Korea. 

He was born Jan. 3, 1992, in Litchfield, the son of Janet (Eccles) Mercer of Largo, FL, and Larry Adams of Hillsboro.

He attended Largo High School and graduated with honors at Maverick High School. He served in the US Army where he was a Field Artillery Data Specialist. He did his basic training at Ft. Jackson in Columbia, SC, and his Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Sill in Oklahoma prior to his deployment to Seoul,  Korea on March 26. 

Mr. Adams was a soldier of Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 15th Field Artillery, 1st Brigade Combat Team, stationed at Camp Casey, Korea. He was a member of the Pathways Community Church. He loved football and basketball and was an orange belt in karate. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancee, Morgan McBride of Clearwater, FL; a sister, Amanda Killen, of St. Petersburg, FL; grandparents Dale and Geraldine Eccles of Panama; and a great-grandmother Mildred Thacker of Springfield. 

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 6, at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Clearwater, FL. Hough & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family locally.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
