Kent Kesner, 57

Kent K. Kesner, 57, of Greenville died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at Greenville Regional Hospital.  

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 6, at Young Funeral Home in Greenville with burial in Robinson Cemetery in Pocahontas.

Mr. Kesner was born on Oct. 7, 1958, in Highland, the son of the late James D. and Lovell M. (Brasel) Kesner.

He grew up and lived his entire life in Greenville. He graduated from Greenville High School and Greenville College. After college, he attended The Broadcast Center in St. Louis.

Mr. Kesner worked at WGRN radio at Greenville College and then WSMI radio, and was currently working at WGEL in Greenville where he was sports director and broadcasted all the local sports. He also did the Swap Shop and Sports Center programs.  

He drove a school bus for Bond County Unit #2 for over 20 years.  He was very interested in history of the Civil War and WWII. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Kesner is survived by his sister, Kim (Don) Lugge of Pocahontas; niece, Sabryna (Josh) Fahrney; nephew, Simon (Katy) Lugge; and special friend, Dianne Merritt of Greenville.
