Larry Edwards, 73, of Keyesport died at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, Nov.  19, 2015.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Nov. 21, at Columbus Baptist Church north of Keyesport with Pastor Bruce Sasse officiating.

Mr. Edwards was born in Hillsboro in 1942, the son of the late Guy and Fern Edwards. He married his wife, Judy, in Keyesport in 1962, and she survives in Keyesport.

He worked out of Teamsters Local 50 for many years and was the owner and operator of Edwards Trucking. He served as trustee of Tamalco Township Board for 12 years and was Tamalco Township road commissioner for 24 years.

Mr. Edwards was a member of the Keyesport Fire Department for 30 years, serving as fire chief for many years. He loved hunting, fishing, stock car races and riding horses.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Dallas (wife Gail) Edwards and Jim Edwards, both of Keyesport; two grandchildren, Dillon and Ellie Edwards of Keyesport; two brothers, Glen (wife Carol) Edwards of Marine and Ron (wife Brenda) Edwards of Witt; and three sisters, Roseland Williams of Coffeen, Brenda (husband Raymond) Murray of Orlando, FL, and Mary Jane (husband Brad) Niemann of Hillsboro.

In lieu of other gifts, the family suggests memorial donations to the Columbus Baptist Church, Duncan Cemetery or to Bond County Hospice. Memorial donations will be received at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle.
