Lena F. Feraris, 93, of Springfield, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at 9:29 a.m. at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 13, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Springfield. Funeral Mass will follow, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the church with Monsignor Michael Kuse officiating. Burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

 Mrs. Feraris was born April 14, 1925, in Taylor Springs, to Ernest and Dolores Menghini. She married Kenneth Feraris, Sr. on Sept. 9, 1950, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2007.

She was a homemaker who loved crafting, sewing, crocheting and embroidery. She volunteered her time at Christ the King Catholic Church and School.

Her family is grateful for the nurses and staff members of Lewis Memorial Christian Village and Memorial Home Care Hospice for the loving care they provided to her.

Mrs. Feraris is survived by two daughters, Kathy and Nancy Feraris, both of Springfield; one son, Ken (Linda) Feraris, Jr. of Springfield; two grandchildren, Lisa and John Feraris; one sister, Elsie Hall of Hillsboro; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Menghini.

Memorials may be directed to the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer's, Team Mama Lena.
