Linda Sue (Boerckel) Burnett, 57, of Hillsboro died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at her residence.
A memorial service will be held at St. James Baptist Church in Hillsboro on Monday, May 9, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Hayes officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date.
Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Burnett was born on June 28, 1958, in Greenville, the daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy Boerckel. She was married to Richard “Dick” Burnett for over 35 years, and he survives.
She was a graduate of Greenville High School and she attended St. James Baptist Church in Hillsboro. She was an assistant activities director at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab in Taylor Springs.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Burnett is survived by one son, Kyle Louis Burnett of Taylorville; one stepson, Michael Dean Burnett of Hillsboro; and a brother, Gary Boerckel of Litchfield.
Memorials may be directed to the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
