Mabel Louise Farrar, 86, of Hillsboro died at 6:27 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2015, at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab in Taylor Springs.

Cremation rites were accorded and no services are planned at this time. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Farrar was born on Oct. 28, 1928, in Owaneco, the daughter of the late Fremont and Lois (Dorr) Jones. She married Francis Farrar on Nov. 2, 1968, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2014.

A graduate of Litchfield High School in Litchfield, she lived in Litchfield, Memphis, TN, Apopka, FL, and Hillsboro during her lifetime. She owned and operated a restaurant, "Chicken Hut," in Memphis, TN. 

Mrs. Farrar is survived by her children, Michael (wife Jennifer) Rottinghaus of Greenbrier, AR, Patricia Niehaus of Hillsboro,  Katherine Robinson of Litchfield, Dennis (wife Patti) Farrar of Brandon, FL, Janet Ragland  (Cal Saunders) of Oviedo, FL, and Kim Blue of Oviedo, FL; nine grandchildren; 18 great -grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Eugene (wife Marge) Jones of Scottsdale, AZ, Shirley (husband Melvin) Wempen of Morrisonville and Mary Carol (husband Carl) Simmons of Odin; and a sister-in-law, Betty (husband Lloyd) Nail of Litchfield.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Farrar; and one brother, Robert Jones.
