Marilyn Eileen Oger, 77, of Vandalia died at 2:32 a.m. Monday morning, Nov. 16, 2015, at Fayette County Hospital Emergency Room.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Barry Harmon officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Van Burensburg.     

Mrs. Oger was born in Vandalia on Dec. 19, 1937, the daughter of the late Emmett C. and Ida L. (Greenwood) Anderson. She married William R. "Bill" Oger in Springfield on Dec. 24, 1958, and he survives in Vandalia.

She was known for her love of people, especially her grandsons Thomas Braxton Denton and Coda Michael Denton. She was also known for her big smile and greeting at the Benner-Nawman Telephone Booth Assembly Plant, formerly in Vandalia. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Oger is survived by one son, Tony William Oger of Vandalia; daughter, Kimberly Anna (husband Mike) Mars of Vandalia; sister, Louella Troeckler of Edwardsville; grandsons, Braxton Denton (fiancée Carolyn Ebbens) of Lewisville, TX, Coda Denton of Charleston, John (wife Kelsey) Mars of Vandalia, Seth Mars (companion Claralyn Luchtefeld) of Brownstown and Jordan Mars of Lake Charles, LA; and great-grandchildren, Aiden and Alayna Mars of Vandalia.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and William Anderson.
