Martha L. Lee, 93, of Hillsboro died at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at Nokomis Rehab and Healthcare Center in Nokomis.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Amanranth rites will be said at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Ward of Hillsboro officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Mrs. Lee was born in Bethany on Dec. 19, 1921, the daughter of Elsworth and Pearlie (Chapman) Scofield. She married Carl E. Lee on April 24, 1949, in Mattoon, and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1996.

She lived in Mattoon, Paris, IL, East St. Louis and Hillsboro during her lifetime. She graduated from Mattoon High School in Mattoon and owned McDavid Abstract Company in Hillsboro.

Mrs. Lee was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, Eastern Star of Nokomis and past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star in Hillsboro, Springfield Court #8 of the Order of Amanranth where she was a past Royal Matron, former board member of the Montgomery County Senior Citizens and the  Rainbow Girls of Hillsboro and Litchfield, where she was a past Mother Advisor.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Lee of Hillsboro and Steve (wife Kay) Lee of Nokomis; two daughters, Merlene Mundhenk of Springfield and Vicki Lee of Peoria; four grandchildren, Michelle (husband Damion) Peters, Tara Hampton, Corey Lee and Abbey (husband Josh) Spencer; and three great-grandchildren, Kace Peters, Lauren Peters and Kayla Hampton.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Pam Lee; grandson, Christopher Wayne Lee in 1989; two brothers, Leo Scofield and Jesse Scofield; and four sisters, Vera Vogelsang, Marden Frabotta, Beatrice Kelly and Marjorie Cook.

Memorials may be made to Montgomery County Paws Care, Amanranth Diabetes Foundation or Nokomis Rehab and Healthcare Center.
