Marvin Eugene Beal, 63, formerly of Hillsboro, died at 6:32 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Chester.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hilsboro. The Rev. Randy Sands, pastor of Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, will officiate with burial in Clear Springs Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Mr. Beal was born on Oct. 27, 1947, in Hillsboro, a son of the late Charlie C. and Doris E. (Orvis) Beal. He was a graduate of the Hillsboro High School Class of 1967 and lived his entire life in Hillsboro. He married Ellen Huber and they later divorced.

An Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Era, Mr. Beal was an avid car collector and a member of the Wolf Pack Car Club in Hillsboro and of Radius Rods in Pocahontas.

During his life, he worked at CPC in Litchfield and as a rural mail carrier. He also owned his own engraving and gun shop.

Mr. Beal is survived by two children, Johnathan K. Beal of St. Louis, MO, and Marla J. Beal of Edwardsville; a grandson, DeAndre Bradshaw; and a brother, David (wife Patricia) Beal of Hillsboro.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Edward Beal and Robert Bradley Beal.
