Mary Frances Fischer Blum, 92, of Beardstown died Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Heritage Health in Beardstown.

Funeral services were held Monday, May, 9, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Arenzville. Burial was in Arenzville North Cemetery.

Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Blum was born on May 1, 1924, in Beardstown, the daughter of the late Roy and Minnie (Miller) Fischer. She married Orville "Dutch" Blum on Aug. 15, 1945, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Arenzville, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2007.

She graduated from Arenzville High School with the class of 1941. She worked at Wells Lamont, later Illinois Glove, in Beardstown and retired after 30 years of employment. She was a baptized and confirmed member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Arenzville and also a charter member of Arenzville American Legion Auxiliary Unit #604.

Mrs. Blum loved to sew and even created her daughter's wedding dress, plus many quilts. She enjoyed riding with her husband on their Gold Wing motorcycle as they traveled many parts of the United States. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.

She is survived by her twin sons, Gary (wife Gerry) Blum of Beardstown and Larry (wife Linda) Blum of Pawnee; her daughter, Karen (husband Mark) Osborn of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Bill (wife Lora) Davis, Brian (wife Kelly) Davis, Travis (wife Jen) Osborn, Melissa Osborn, Stephen (wife Shannon) Blum and Neil Blum; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Peyton, Dalton, Brittany, Elizabeth, Logan and Samantha; her sister-in-law, Margaret of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Blum was preceded in death by four brothers, James Fischer, W. Henry Buck, Harry Buck and Herman Buck; and her grandson, Brice Davis.

Memorials are suggested to Cass/Schuyler Area Hospice, St. Peter's Lutheran Church or Arenzville American Legion Auxiliary Unit #604.
