Mary E. 'Blondie' Stewart, 88

Mary Edith "Blondie" Stewart, 88, of Hillsboro, died at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

As per her wishes, Mrs. Stewart's body was donated to science and there will be no services. Bass, Patton, Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.

Mrs. Stewart was born on March 28, 1926, in Walshville, a daughter of the late Edward and Alice (Hemken) Jarman. She married Cecil Stewart Sr. on June 1, 1946, in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2008.

A resident of Hillsboro since 1946, she worked at Roller Derby for approximately 15 years as a cutter.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro and East Fork Baptist Church in Coffeen.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by two daughters, Martha (husband Fred) Burdell of Litchfield and Mary (husband Walter) Grabow of Normal; two sons, Cecil Stewart Jr. (companion Linda "Boots" Reynolds) and Dale (wife Gail) Stewart, both of Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Ruth Fenton, Nora Law, Anna Pence and Florence Young, all of Litchfield.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jess, Jack, Edward Jr. and Albert Jarman; and two sisters, Myrna Law and Betty Osborn.

Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church or East Fork Baptist Church.
