Funeral services for Mary Jean Reeves, 80, of Donnellson are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Randy Sands will officiate, and burial will be in Donnellson Cemetery. Visitation is today, Monday, Nov. 23, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean's.

Mrs. Reeves died on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at 9:39 p.m. in the Montgomery Nursing & Rehab Center in Taylor Springs.

She was born on Nov. 24, 1934, in Nashville, TN, to Cyrus Roger and Alice (Howard) Davis. In addition to her birth city, she lived in Birmingham, AL, Hillsboro and Donnellson. A graduate of a Birmingham high school, she earned her B.S. in Education and her Masters in Speech Therapy from Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Locally she taught fifth grade at Irving and at Coffeen elementary schools and served as a speech therapist for the district.

An avid reader, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Donnellson Presbyterian Church.

She married LaMoine Reeves on Aug. 23, 1958, in Hillsboro; he survives in Donnellson. Also surviving are one son, Geoff (wife Theresa) Reeves of Hillsboro; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Reeves of Donnellson; and three grandchildren, Paige (husband Ryan) Farmer of Hillsboro, Payton Reeves of Hillsboro and Kelli Reeves of Donnellson.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Dwight Roger "Doc" Reeves; and one brother, Roger Davis.

The family suggests memorials be directed to the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
