Matthew Grissom, 30, of Herrick, formerly of Pana, died Monday, May, 4, 2015, in an auto accident south of Pana on Route 51.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Kennedy & Sons Funeral Home in Pana. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at the funeral home with Fr. Rodney A. Schwartz officiating.
Burial will be in Ramsey Cemetery in Ramsey.
Mr. Grissom was born on Oct. 25, 1984, in Springfield, the son of Rick and Tina (Beyers) Grissom.
He grew up in Pana and was a graduate of Pana High School with the class of 2003. He attended Eastern Illinois University and was a member of IBEW Local Union 146 in Decatur, the Pana Elks and the Pana Moose.
Mr. Grissom is survived by his son, Quinton Grissom of Hillsboro; father, Rick Grissom of Pana; mother, Tina Grissom of Pana; grandparents, Ray "Mike" and Beverly Beyers of Pana; great-grandmother, Dorothy Hicks of Pana; sister, LeAnna Grissom of Pana; and niece, Brooklynn Grissom-Hopper of Pana.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dean and Mary Grissom; and great-grandfather, Lloyd Hicks.
