Pauline (Gregurich) Irwin, 97, of Auburn, formerly of Pawnee and Divernon, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Auburn.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Norton officiating.

Burial will be in Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.

Mrs. Irwin was born in Auburn on Sept. 18, 1916, the daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Cop) Gregurich. She married John Joseph Irwin in Springfield on March 19, 1938, and he preceded her in death in 1990.

She was a member of the Zenobia Baptist Church in Zenobia. She and her husband farmed in the area for many years and she also worked at JC Penney and Judy's Hallmark stores in Springfield.

Mrs. Irwin enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with her loving family. She was known for her wonderful pies.

She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (husband William D.) Murphy of Harvel; daughter-in-law, Sue Irwin of Pawnee; three granddaughters, Dana, Lisa and Kristina Murphy, all of Springfield; two grandsons, Jamie (wife Sarah) Maley and John (wife Debbie) Irwin of Pawnee; two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Hadleigh Maley of Pawnee; two sisters, Georgia Herberger and Barbara Castleman, both of Pawnee; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Gregurich of Girard and Louise Gregurich of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Irwin was preceded in death by a son, James Irwin; five brothers, Andrew, Paul, John, George and Daniel; and sisters, Mary Dunlap, Della Gregory, Irene Lindsey and Virginia Schober.
