Rosemary Delaney, 80, of Jacksonville died Monday, May 4, 2015, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville. A memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Delaney was born on July 8, 1934, in Springfield, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Schwener) Bregenhorn. She married James W. Delaney on July 16, 1955, at St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Springfield, and he survives.

She was a secretary at Our Saviour Grade School and later worked as a realtor in Jacksonville. She was an active member of the Church of Our Saviour and devoted countless hours to the Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America, the Old Rectory Task Force and Habitat for Humanity.

Mrs. Delaney looked forward to her monthly meeting with the CRAMMA Club. Above all else, she cherished her role as a wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children, Gary (wife Meg) Delaney of Evanston, Daniel (wife Barb) Delaney of Litchfield, Therese (husband Michael) Burgess and Robert Delaney, both of Jacksonville, Edward Delaney (friend Julie) of Hillsboro and Sandra (husband Steven) Bova of Sherman; 22 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one sister, Sr. Rita Ann Bregenhorn, O.S.U. of St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Hank Bregenhorn.

Memorials are suggested to Our Saviour Grade School or Routt Catholic High School.
