Rosemary Toberman-Hotz, 90, of Coffeen died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at 8:25 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro.

Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Walsh, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Coffeen, officiating, and assisted by Doug White of Litchfield. 

Burial will be in Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen.

Mrs. Hotz was born in Sumner on Jan. 31, 1927, the daughter of Charles Fisher and Elizabeth L. (McVickar) Piper. She married Jack Toberman on Jan. 31, 1947, in Sumner, and he preceded her in death. She then married Armin D. “Shorty” Hotz in 1980, and he also preceded her in death.

She was a 1945 graduate of Sumner High School in Sumner and Cosmetology Beautician School in Olney. She was the previous owner of Toberman Funeral Home in Coffeen, as well as a cosmetologist and beautician. She had lived in the Coffeen area since 1947.

Mrs. Hotz was a member of the Red Hats Society, United Methodist Church of Coffeen, Coffeen Royal Neighbors, Eastern Star, Business Professional Women (BPW) and a Hillsboro Educational Foundation Board member. She loved to do yard work and garden.

She is survived by her children, Mike (wife Terry) Toberman of Coffeen and Dan (wife Kathy) Toberman of St. Charles, MO; four grandchildren, Ben Toberman (fiancée Amy) of Taylorville, Aimee (husband Josh) Burdell of Litchfield, Jacob Toberman (fiancée Heather) of Montgomery City, MO, and Joe Toberman (fiancée Kasie) of St. Peters, MO; five great-grandchildren, Isabel Vincent, Aden Toberman, Isaiah Burdell, Noah Burdell and Greyson Wyatt Toberman; and sister, Kathryn McKinney of Toledo.   

Besides her husbands, Mrs. Hotz was preceded in death by a grandson, Jack Isiah Toberman; and siblings, Charles R. Piper, Eloise Mattoon and Betty Lawson.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Coffeen or the Coffeen Volunteer Fire Department in Coffeen.
