Terry Michael Applegate, 56, of Hillsboro died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010.

Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hough & Son's Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Sands officiating. Burial will be at Waveland Cemetery, Hillsboro.

Born April 17, 1954, at Hillsboro, he was a son of the late Earl Applegate and Nadine and Irvin (Scharf) Beal. He had been married to Becky Moler, and then to Donna Janssen Hemken.

A 1972 graduate of Litchfield High School, he attended Lincoln Land Community College. He worked as a truck driver at Sharon Williams Trucking at Bingham. He previously drove trucks for Moler Trucking and Excavating and worked at Monteray Coal Mine #1 at Carlinville.

He was a member of Waveland Church, UMWA Local 1613, and a past member of the Hillsboro Moose. He had been a wrestler in high school.

Survivors include a son, William M. (wife Tricia) Applegate of Hillsboro; daughter, Amanda (husband Michael) Myers of Taylor Springs; sister, Linda (husband Steve) Hamby of Walshville; three brothers, Gary (wife Karen) Applegate of Boardman, OR, Rich (wife Kim) Applegate of Walshville, and Jim (wife Venita) Beal of Jacksonville; an aunt, Clara Mae Witten of Coffeen; a great-aunt, Hazel Scharf of Litchfield; two grandchildren, Eric S. Applegate and Mykenzie Loskot of Hillsboro, and a grandchild on the way; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Waveland Church or Paws Care of Montgomery County.
