Terry Edward Pinkowski, 67, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at his home in Odin.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating.

Burial will follow at Peaceful Valley in Odin. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the American Legion Post 446 and VFW Post 2055.

Mr. Pinkowski was born on March 4, 1947, in Chicago, the son of the late Jerry and Alice (McDevitt) Pinkowski. He married Shirley Wilkes on March 7, 1969, and she survives in Odin.

He was a United States Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968 with the 7th Motor Transport Battalion. He worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections for over 30 years while living in Joliet and later Hillsboro.

Mr. Pinkowski was a life member of VFW Post 2055, where he had many beloved friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of 45 years, he is survived by his daughter, Melissa (husband Bob) Malisia of Donnellson; son, Scott Pinkowski (Tami Gambill) of Centralia; and grandchildren, Amanda Kunze of Manhattan, KS, Rachel Kunze of Hillsboro and Drake and Audrey Pinkowski of Centralia.

Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia.
