David "Dave" L. Vega, 70, of Litchfield, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, with his family by his side in his home of 47 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 13, beginning at 6 p.m. at Moose Lodge #1634 in Litchfield. An open house will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. and also after the Celebration of Life. Hough Funeral Home in Raymond is assisting the family.
Mr. Vega was born July 27, 1948, in Litchfield, to Dave Vega, Sr. and Betty Alice (Webb) Vega Littlehale. He married Patricia S. Oller on Feb. 7, 1970, in Litchfield, and she survives.
He worked for the Roller Derby Skate Corporation in Litchfield for 35 years, and later became the owner and operator of Bi-County Asphalt Sealing and Striping, Inc. in Litchfield.
Mr. Vega was a very active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1634, active auxiliary member of VFW Post #3912, lifetime member of AMVETS Post #16 and active member of the Litchfield Eagles Aerie #4499.
He enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors and listening to music from his generation. He loved cooking for family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Vega is survived by his children, Shane A. (girlfriend Jackie Bailey) Vega, Branden L. (wife Heather) Vega, Nicole L. (fiance Nathan Ondrey) Vega and Kyle W. Vega, all of Litchfield; siblings, Jerry (wife Cathy) Vega and Gary (wife Jan) Vega, both of Litchfield, Pam (husband Jim) Vega Finnegan of Staunton, Donna (husband Eric) Vega Mullen of Carlinville, Sue (Vega) Roach of Raymond, Tena (husband Dale) Vega Stamer of Killeen, TX, and Lori (husband Robert) Vega Brown of Taylorville; grandchildren, Victoria, Blake, Alexis, Dade and Kyra Vega, Christian Spenseberger, Hannah (husband Dakota) Vega Hast, Andrew and Conner Sarver, Brenna and Elearose, Leighthyn Vega Ondrey; great-grandchildren Xander and Xaler Hast and Khloe Hodge; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
