The Village of Raymond held a regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 18.
Raymond resident Keith Halsey was in attendance to inquire about the village's plan for the old ambulance shed that recently burned down. Mayor Dennis Held stated that the board intended to put the property up for bid in the near future. Following a short discussion, Trustee Pennock made a motion to put the property, located on O'Bannon Street, up for bid "as-is," to be opened at the board's Monday, April 1, meeting. A notice will run in the Raymond News and bids may be submitted to the clerk by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, or to the board at their 7 p.m. meeting.
Mayor Held reported that the new police car was in service and that everything has been installed with the exception of two side-lights. Insurance proceeds for the building, equipment, and squad car have been received and payment for miscellaneous inventory, and tools is forthcoming. A new sprayer for the golf course has been acquired.
Max Neunaber spoke with the clerk about the rental of Harvel's police car. The Harvel board suggested a rental amount of $300. Trustee Summers made a motion to pay the rental fee and all present voted in favor. Raymond Village Board extends their gratitude to the Village of Harvel for their assistance.
Mayor Held attended the mayor's meeting the week of Monday, March 11. He reported that there are several things coming into development in the next few months that may have an affect on the Village of Raymond.
Finance reported that a CD will be up for renewal on Thursday, April 4. The clerk will seek bids next week, after Monday, March 25, for current rates.
Trustee Summers reported that Chief of Police Sheldon has shown her the new squad car and she was pleased with the purchase. Trustee Summers has received several compliments from Raymond's residents on the car.
The golf course opened as scheduled on Friday, March 1. Recycling will be open every weekend and an electronic recycling event will be held in Hillsboro on Saturday, May 4.
