A total of 95 new COVID-19 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Montgomery County during the past week for a total of 993 as of Sunday, Nov. 22, since the pandemic began, according to the Montgomery County Health Department, with 11 test results pending.
The 95 new cases resulted in a 4.0 percent positivity rate for the week. As of Nov. 23, there have been 359 new cases in November, after 259 in October, 131 in September, 99 in August, 104 in July, one in June, 15 in May, 24 in April, and one in March.
The Litchfield School District learned on Thursday, Nov. 19, that two high school students tested positive, resulting in contact tracing and 21 students on quarantine.
Monday and Tuesday will be all-remote days in the Litchfield School District this week before Thanksgiving break begins on Wednesday. Classes will resume on Monday, Nov. 30.
According to the Hillsboro School District, a substitute bus driver tested positive last week, but no other quarantines were required from contact tracing.
