Adeline Lydia Collins, 94, of Hillsboro, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at 4:40 p.m. at her residence.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with the Rev. Randy Sands officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Hillsboro.

Born on Jan. 13, 1920 in Plymouth, MA, she was the daughter of Manuel and Julia (Perry) Miranda. She married Gerald Collins on Nov. 24, 1942 in St. Louis, MO, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2003.

A housewife, she had also done laundry and ironing for many people in the community. She lived in Hillsboro most of her adult life.

Mrs. Collins was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro and was very involved with Hillsboro sports at the junior high and high school level.

Survivors include two sons, Harry "Hap" (companion Cathi) Collins of Montgomery and Mike (wife Janice) Collins of Hillsboro; Kim (wife Jo) Micklevitz of Taylor Springs, who lived with the Collins family through his high school years due to his parents relocating; seven grandchildren, Michael (wife Susan) Collins of Brooklyn, NY, Jessica Collins of Hillsboro, Jacob (wife Paula) Collins of Hillsboro, Kari (husband Nathan) McCormick of Coffeen, Cindy Collins of Mt. Olive, Joey (companion Apryll Harris) Collins of Litchfield and Bryan (wife Stacey) Micklevitz of Edwardsville; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Manuel Miranda Jr., Christian Miranda and Frank Perry and one sister, Maimie Rodriguez.

Memorials may be made to the Hillsboro Sports Association.
