Alice G. Loomis, 88, of Taylorville, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, at 2:38 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Don Bettis officiating. Burial will be held in Macon Cemetery in Macon.
Mrs. Loomis was born Aug. 3, 1931, in Mt. Zion, the daughter of Garnet and Maude (Bell) Warner. She married Marion Loomis on Dec. 30, 1951, in Mt. Zion, and he preceded her in death.
A homemaker, she helped her husband on the farm. She loved to cook, and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Jerry Loomis and Earl (Lana) Loomis, both of Taylorville; daughter, Sally (Ron) Bethard of Taylorville; grandchildren, Alison (David) Loomis-Matthews of Washington, IN, Ashley (Joe) Loomis-Smith of Chatham, Cindy Bethard of Taylorville and Alicia (Philip) Bethard-Klinefelter of Arizona; great-grandchildren, Lucy, Jack and Henry Smith of Chatham, Zoey and Mila Klinefelter of Arizona, Wyatt Matthews of Washington, IN; brother, Dwane Warner of St. Marie; sisters, Mary Belskamper of Macon and Marie McGeehon of Mattoon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by infant son, Terry; five brothers; and three sisters.
