Alice Irene (Gradomski) Toschak , 90, of Yorkville, died on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at Rush Copley Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, at Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis. Masses may be celebrated at St. Patricks Church in Pana. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Toschak was born on March 24, 1930, in Cicero, the daughter of Zygmundt and Eva (Rakus) Gradomiski. She married Andrew Toschak in April 7, 1951, he preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1984.
The couple built their first home in Lombard, where they had their first three children. They moved to Glenn Ellyn in 1958, where their family grew to include four more children. She was an adventurous young girl, who at age seven would take the “L” from Cicero to Chicago on her own. Her family will remember her spirit as one of great love and adventure.
Mrs. Toschak is survived by her sister, Helen; children, Sandra (Steve) May, Sharon, John (Vickie), Barbara, Michelle, and David (Silvia), all Toschaks; grandchildren, Andy, Alex, Zach, Jordan, Ben, Alice, David, Sophia and Oliver; great-grandchildren, Zoe and little dude, Zach; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Andrew Toschak Jr.; and siblings, Lee, Gene and Helen.
