Allen J. Zupanci, 63, of Hillview, died on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at his residence.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 10, at 2 p.m at Daws Family Funeral Home in Roodhouse. Interment was at Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse.

Mr. Zupanci was born on March 21, 1956, in Hillsboro, to Joseph and Dorothy Kieslar Zupanci. He married Anita Wratchford in 1975, and she preceded him in death in 1980. Mr. Zupanci later married, Jill Proffer, on June 23, 1990, at Hillview Baptist Church.

He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1974 and joined the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Zupanci completed six weeks basic training tech school at Sheppard Air Force Base, nine months at Barksdale Tech School in Shreveport, LA, for airplane engine mechanic training and electrical training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. Mr. Zupanci served in the Red Horse Division at Wichita, KS, from 1975 to 1980. He served in South Korea for a year and was discharged from the military in 1981.

Mr. Zupanci was employed at the Vocational Tech School in Springfield, at Mobil Chemical from 1987 to 1995, and Olin Corporation in Alton from 1995 to 2016. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #80, Hillview American Legion Post #1210, and was an avid hunter.

Mr. Zupanci is survived by wife, Jill Zupanci of Hillview; son, Adam (Lydia Rhodes) Zupanci of Hillview; and sister Susie (Joe) Boston of Irving.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Jason Zupanci.
