Alma Ruth Johnson, 95, of Litchfield, died at 11:06 a.m., on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Litchfield.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 21, from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service, at 2 p.m, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield, with Rev. Jason Plumer of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required. Plummer Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ms. Johnson was born on Jan. 31, 1926, in Litchfield, a daughter of Leslie Wayne and Hazel Alma (Boden) Sharp. She married Harwell C. Johnson in 1945, they later divorced.  

Ms. Johnson graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1943. She was a bookkeeper for Austin-Shrader Hardware from 1969 to 1986 upon them closing.  She later worked part-time at Plummer Funeral Home, Montgomery Place, Litchfield Floral and at Yellowstone National Park in the summers of 1987 through 1993. Ms. Johnson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Litchfield where she participated in the J.O.Y. Class. She enjoyed volunteering her time for Hearts United and being with her family. In her spare time, she loved to garden.

Ms. Johnson is survived by her children, Leslie Johnson of Litchfield, Ronald (Barbara) Johnson of Litchfield, Jerald (Janice) Johnson of Crete, Lloyd “Peanut” (Marci) Johnson of Litchfield, Robert A. (Cathy) Johnson of Litchfield and Carol (Robert) Sneed of Litchfield; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren

Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Cinda Sue Johnson; three brothers, Wayne Sharp, Robert Sharp and Kenneth “Gordy” Sharp; and one sister, Nellie Swanson.
