Amy Marie Wyant, 28, of Witt, formerly of Graymont, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020, at 1:51 p.m. at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. After a long courageous fight, she lost her second battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Aug. 10, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pontiac, with Fathers David Sabel and Adam Cesarek officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Pontiac. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wyant was born Oct. 11, 1991, in Pontiac, to Michael and Mary (Gallivan) Follmer, who survive in Graymont. She married Travis Wyant on April 11, 2015, and he survives in Witt.

She attended Graymont Grade School and was a graduate of Pontiac Township High School with the class of 2010. She attended Joliet Junior College and later graduated with a bachelor’s degree in ag communications from Illinois State University. She worked for the Regional Office of Education in Taylorville as a parent educator, and was greatly loved and admired by all the families she worked with.

A loving wife and best friend to her husband, she was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pontiac, she enjoyed cooking and organizing fabulous parties. She was a great friend to many, and was known for her sense of humor. She had a big heart and could light up a room with her laugh and smile.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her brother, Brad (Ashley) Follmer of Pontiac; sister, Abby (Vincent) Hobart of Pontiac; sister-in-law, Amy Wyant of Murphysboro; nephew and niece, Jonathan Follmer and Olivia Follmer; and her beloved dogs, Copper and Jed.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
